Lectures and Workshops

The main emphasis of the camp is education with at least three lectures and three activity classes per day. This year we plan more cooking demos and classes designed for beginners. There also is ample opportunity to ask questions.

Speakers

Each year the Foundation staff along with many of the best lecturers and teachers in macrobiotics and related fields conduct practical classes and workshops. This year's teachers include Bob Carr, Hugh Tinling, Meredith McCarty, Carl and Julia Ferré, Bob and Kathy Ligon, Lenore Yalisove-Baum, Kerry Loeb, Lynda Mathé, Bob Ruggles, and Nancy Sherwood. Added speakers will be announced in Macrobiotics Today.

Consultations

The accessibility of the teachers is one of the highlights of the French Meadows tradition. A schedule of private consultation times will be available at camp.

Beginning Classes

Each day there will be at least one lecture or workshop for those new to macrobiotics and/or just beginning macrobiotic practice. Some of these sessions will be cooking demonstrations with taste samples of the dishes prepared in the class and a copy of each recipe.

"What a great experience! I can't begin to tell you how much camp has meant to me. I feel so invigorated and inspired."

Extra Meetings

Each year there are meetings of people with like interests. Everyone is welcome to put up a sign on the message board at registration regarding a topic of interest. These meetings and impromptu classes, while not a part of the official program, can be quite enlightening and you are welcome to attend as many as you like.
